I've been needing some new boots for a while and finally decided it was time. Narrowed my choices down for days but still couldn't quite decide. REI only had one choice in my size, so I ordered them all and will just take the others back. So far the Asolo 520 is winning the try outs.

I bought some North Face Low cuts that have turned out to be the best hiking shoe ever. Put 25+ miles (most terrains, including snow) on them thus far and they are total joy.
Great... so now the list is growing again. :) I need something heavy enough to backpack in too though as these will replace my do-everything outdoors boots. Comfort is key since one of the big reasons I'm replacing is that my old boots have started giving me heal blisters on every hike.
FYI: Here's my main tryout procedures so far:

I am not qualified to have any opinion, but fashion wise I think the ones on the far right look like someone already wore them.
What the!? Why I aughta take them back now and complain. Oh wait, actually those are my old boots... I forgot. :)
